Working hours in Brazil and in the world
First of all, in Brazil we have a working day culture that determines at least 8 hours of work per day with 1 hour for lunch, not counting the journey to and from work. However, in some countries this average can be higher or lower depending on each place.
So, today to understand the impact of this on the worker's day to day life let's talk a little and see important numbers on the subject!
The OECD, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, a body that stores information from over 40 countries on various topics related to the economy makes a survey since 2010 of the average hours worked by countries and brings us the top 5 countries with the lowest average work in 2021:
We can also see the countries with the highest average weekly working hours in the year 2021:

Although Brazil does not appear in this ranking, according to IBGE today we do 44 hours/week which totals 8 hours daily with the possibility of up to 2 extra hours reaching 10 hours daily work.
In other words, we would be tied with Costa Rica and pass Colombia if you take into account the 2 overtime allowed.
Besides, we're not talking about the "cost benefit" value of wages relative to working time. Which would probably be a huge "nonsense" for many countries.
A lot has been changing in recent years mainly because of the pandemic that forced people to migrate to the Home Office. This has led to a new possibility for the market, since working from the comfort of your home makes things much cozier.
Others still saw the foreign market a way to work less and earn more especially in the IT area. For this reason many have been seeking the work model in which they earn in Euro or Dollar without leaving Brazil or a real opportunity to immigrate out of the country from a vacancy in Europe.
Many, seeking other options, began to work in the model PJ or freelance making their own schedules and thus escaping the 44 hours / week of work and increasing the cost benefit.

For many, the search to be part of better working conditions both in terms of pay, working hours and culture, is still very important.
